Red Robin

This weekend I was out in the yard with my dog when he spooked an injured robin. So, I ushered the dog inside to prevent any further injuries to the bird and returned with a blanket and camera. I figured I could capture the bird (something I have become skilled at doing in the past few months of removing birds from the house…) and release it in the next yard over, which is in fact “Husky-less.” As you might expect I stopped to take some photos, and at the end the bird hopped away without my assistance. But, I think it’s better that way.

To take this photo I was laying on the ground about a foot away from the robin, and I’m surprised that it was as accommodating as it was. The photo is at its natural size and not altered apart from contrast and brightness.

Really cool David. It’s awesome getting close shots of animals like this. And glad that it hopped away and seemed to be OK. =)
Ben: I absolutely love taking animal photos, there’s just something fun about it. I’m glad it hopped away too, I don’t think capturing a wounded bird is fun for either party involved.
