My Task
In accordance with the change in branding and design for the Asbury Inn I was sent a photoshop file and a word document and asked to create the XHTML and CSS. I also setup the typography and did some minor tweaking to her original work. The one piece of this project that I didn’t expect was the Photo Tour.
The Asbury Inn wanted to display photos of their accommodations and services, but they didn’t want the usual photo gallery where everything was on the same page. After a bit of conversation I came up with the solution in use, a javascript driven photo tour.
For the web geeks out there, this photo tour is unobtrusive and completely viewable without the javascript, the difference is the style and manner of display. Basically, you’re given a list of photos which the javascript hides and then displays as you rotate through them. The concept is simple but I’m proud of it nevertheless since it’s my first professional work with javascript for which I wrote the code from scratch.
