A Note About the Design

This year the Seminary has opted to hold this event in Orlando Florida, which is an interesting change from Kentucky. Teresa Vandermolen, one of the Seminary’s graphic designers, sent me a Photoshop file with the header graphic attached and some of the elements she used to put it together.

Trying to honor her design I pieced together the grid, the layout and the typography for the website. Teresa then sent me the orange speaker list backgrounds that indicates which speaker you’re reading about and some adjustments to the color scheme she was using. After that I began the conversion from the Photoshop file to XHTML and CSS. As a final touch I added in the photos to a few of the pages that were more text-based.

It was great to work with Teresa on this project, the design she put together was something that I don’t think I ever would have come up with. I think her design gets to the point of the event and the event’s location.
