Photography: Abstract Arches and Lighting

I’m always looking for subjects for my photos, but sometimes that comes with bizarre results. Recently I was visiting some friends, Nathan and Olga Smith, and the light in their house was falling in interesting ways across the arches of the ceiling. Since my camera was already in my hand I started shooting those curves in an abstracted way.

I have never really tried architecture photos before, and probably these don’t count as that anyway. I think the results are interesting, much different than what I typically shoot. Some have said they look a bit like the default backgrounds on Apple’s OS X. Whether or not that’s true is up to personal opinion.

But nevertheless, I’m happy with the shots and I thought I’d post them here. I hope you enjoy them.
